BetBlocker Enhances Accessibility with New Turkish Language Self-Exclusion Tool

BetBlocker, the non-profit organization dedicated to fostering responsible gambling through its self-exclusion technology, has announced the introduction of a new localized service available in Turkish. This strategic update is designed to make its vital support accessible to a broader demographic, specifically targeting the approximate 90 million residents of Turkey, alongside the extensive Turkish diaspora situated across Europe, the Middle East, and North America.

The core mission of BetBlocker’s innovative tool is to empower individuals grappling with gambling-related issues to voluntarily opt out of gambling activities. A cornerstone of its approach is the preservation of user anonymity, ensuring that individuals can seek help without the fear of social stigma or adverse repercussions. The development and implementation of multi-language support have been a challenging yet crucial endeavor for BetBlocker, with the Turkish localization representing a notable milestone in this global outreach strategy.

Duncan Garvie, Founder and Trustee of BetBlocker, expressed enthusiasm for the new offering. "BetBlocker is genuinely excited to roll out our second language expansion of 2026," Garvie stated, highlighting the organization's ongoing growth. He further noted the substantial increase in service adoption: "We’ve experienced phenomenal uptake of the service over the last 12 months, and figures have steadily risen. One of the biggest drivers of that growth has been improving the accessibility of our support by meeting users where they are and offering support in the language that they’re most comfortable accessing in."

This project's realization was significantly aided by collaborative efforts, particularly with Clinical Psychologist and researcher Fatmatuz Zehra Pehlivan. Her expertise was instrumental in ensuring the cultural and linguistic appropriateness of the Turkish localization. Garvie acknowledged her invaluable contribution, adding, "As with many of the communities BetBlocker now supports, we would not be able to reach so many people without the kindness and generosity of field experts like Fatmatuz."

The launch underscores BetBlocker's commitment to widening the availability of resources for those at risk of or currently experiencing gambling harm, reinforcing its role as a key player in the global responsible gaming landscape.
