Suspect Apprehended in $1.276 Million Missouri Casino Robbery; Search Continues for Accomplice

An ongoing investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) has led to the apprehension of one individual implicated in a significant armed robbery at the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville, Missouri. The incident, which transpired on March 25, 2026, at approximately 2:13 PM, resulted in the theft of an estimated $1,276,000.

Details released by the DDCC outline how two armed assailants entered the casino, one brandishing a handgun and the other a rifle. Both individuals were described as wearing black attire, masks, hats, and sunglasses. The perpetrators proceeded directly to the casino's bank area, where they successfully absconded with the substantial cash sum. As the robbers attempted to exit the premises, a casino patron bravely intervened, tackling one of the suspects. A brief altercation ensued, during which the second assailant struck the patron to free his accomplice. Both robbers then managed to flee the scene to an undisclosed location.

Following intensive investigative efforts, the DDCC identified a 21-year-old resident of Columbia, who was also an employee of the Isle of Capri Casino, as a prime suspect. On the evening of March 26, 2026, law enforcement officials located and arrested the individual while he was at work. After being advised of his rights and undergoing an interview, the suspect was taken into custody.

Initially held for 24 hours at the Cooper County Jail, the suspect was formally charged the following day by the Cooper County Prosecuting Attorney. The charges include Robbery in the First Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Armed Criminal Action, and Tampering with Physical Evidence in a Felony Prosecution. His bond has been set at $1.3 million, and he remains incarcerated at the Cooper County Jail.

Authorities have also identified a second suspect involved in the robbery: a 20-year-old male from Normal, Illinois. Law enforcement agencies are actively engaged in a manhunt to locate and arrest this individual, urging anyone with information to come forward.
