Kentucky Powerball Winner James Farthing Faces New Burglary and Drug Charges

James Farthing, known for his substantial $167 million Powerball victory, has once again encountered legal difficulties, according to reports from Live 5 WCSC and other media outlets. Farthing was reportedly taken into custody on Saturday, March 28, facing charges related to burglary and possession of marijuana.

The arrest stems from an alleged incident where Farthing is accused of breaking into a private residence and absconding with approximately $12,000 in cash. According to victim testimony cited in media reports, Farthing allegedly forced entry through the front door of the property. Security camera footage from the victim's home reportedly captured the incident. Law enforcement located Farthing after tracing his abandoned vehicle, subsequently finding him at a local business.

Following his arrest, Farthing was released on bond on Sunday, with his mother reportedly facilitating the payment. He appeared in court on Monday, where he entered a plea of "not guilty" to the new charges. Farthing is scheduled to return to court on April 27 for further proceedings.
