Bede Gaming Gains Provisional AGLC License, Set for Alberta iGaming Market Entry

Bede Gaming, a prominent provider of digital gaming platforms and software, has successfully secured a crucial license in Alberta, Canada, ahead of the anticipated launch of the province's regulated online gambling sector.

The firm confirmed the acquisition of a conditional one-year iGaming Goods or Services Supplier license, granted by the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC), the provincial regulator.

This authorization marks a significant step for Bede Gaming, establishing it as one of the initial licensed suppliers in Alberta's burgeoning iGaming landscape. The province has been accepting registrations for iGaming operators and software providers since January 2026, signaling its intent to cultivate a robust and competitive market. This strategic approach mirrors the successful establishment of Ontario's online casino market, aiming to attract a diverse array of gambling operators seeking expansion opportunities.

Colin Cole-Johnson, Chief Executive Officer at Bede Gaming, expressed enthusiasm regarding the conditional license approval. He highlighted that this pivotal accomplishment strategically positions Bede Gaming for future growth and enables it to actively facilitate the entry and expansion of other operators within Alberta's new regulatory framework.

Mr. Cole-Johnson further emphasized the company's sustained commitment to the Canadian iGaming sector, noting his anticipation for the promising prospects within this nascent market. He also underscored Bede Gaming's distinction as one of the first applicants formally acknowledged by the regulator, which positions it to deliver highly localized services. The CEO added that the company's SOC 2 certification will provide partners with the assurance and readiness to commence operations swiftly upon market launch.

With the AGLC license in hand, Bede Gaming is now poised to deploy its comprehensive range of services and technological solutions to operators in Alberta's forthcoming regulated market. This authorization will grant partners access to Bede's proprietary in-house products, alongside an extensive portfolio of over 150 third-party integrations, empowering them to significantly scale their offerings and enhance customer engagement.
